vw cup

VW Cup is the flagship product of VW Academy, a gamified hub for all training materials for VW dealership personnel.
For a (too) long time, Cup was not mobile-friendly. Its overall look was also highly outdated, so they were in dire need of a redesign. Users were on Cup so much that they wanted a way to take it with them wherever they went, and they wanted ways to curate their experience by prioritizing only viewing content that’s relevant to their job roles.
In my wireframes, I proposed specific interfaces for desktop and mobile, optimizing both for their respective platforms, and making the mobile interface look like a true mobile web app. I then designed a sleek user interface that matched VW’s most up-to-date brand and UI guidelines, while maintaining the fun, playful tone of VW Cup through whimsical graphics and icons. Everything came together to solidify Cup as a robust VW training platform, but one that doesn’t take itself too seriously.
outcomes & roles
Post-launch, we heard an abundance of positive feedback, user engagement went up, and the platform now exists comfortably in the present rather than woefully lagging behind in a pre-responsive world.
The client was so pleased that they requested designs for several more platforms. I then recommended to them that they consider these platforms an integrated system, and the VW Academy Suite was born.
