porsche mobile academy

Porsche Mobile Academy is a platform for instructional designers and dealership personnel. Designers can use it to create completely customized, digital workbooks as supplemental materials for in-person trainings, run reports and track workbook views/usage, and view results from quizzes and surveys. Dealership employees access the workbooks primarily during in-person trainings and conferences, but they have the ability to refer back to them at any time, request quiz re-takes, and view their completion statistics.
Originally a clunky native iPad app, the client wanted the new platform to be entirely web-based, since most employees only have access to a single iPad through their dealerships. They also needed various user roles with different permissions levels, depending on if workbooks needed to be created, edited, or deleted, or if users or reports needed to be managed. I created detailed desktop and mobile wireframes, outlining the pathways each type of user would take and which features they would be able to view and utilize. From there, I provided direction on the design to a junior visual designer, and I wrote over 100 pages of documentation for the developers to understand the functionality by user type.

The client successfully launched the platform at a live, in-person event, and it was met with nothing but positive feedback from instructional designers and dealership employees alike. The client was so satisfied, they immediately began talking about the next version.
