Bugcrowd is an industry leader in the fast-growing cybersecurity space. Nobody understands penetration testing, bug bounties and white hat hacking like they do, and with clients like Mastercard, Netflix, Atlassian, Tesla, and Pandora, they have the accolades to prove it. From the outset, they’ve had a solid logo, brand guide and a library of custom icons and photography. However, they lacked a designer who could take those elements, thoughtfully put them together, and give them life. That’s where I came in.
I worked with Bugcrowd to design reports, event signage, case studies and one-pagers, research documents, presentation decks, and promotional items like custom coins, socks, and t-shirts.
I used their signature honeycomb shape from their logo as a design element, handling it differently depending on the type of collateral to help their many materials remain visually consistent, yet distinct. I was empowered to use creative license with it as needed so long as it remained recognizable, so I would sometimes rotate it, break it up, use different stroke weights or styles, or weave it into brand photography. This helped convey a general tech industry vibe while accentuating the complexities of the cybersecurity practice itself.
